Does this counter change as people refresh the page?

BTW  The fragment I gave you, replace the vanusa with your own domain.

vanusa is my domain,  www.vanusa.org

Thanks! Can you tell me what you used to create the little envelope at the
bottom of the page to have people click to send you emails?

You can get it the same way I got; right click on it and copy then paste in
your page.  Then do an Insert, Hyperlink put in your email address and your
are done.

I will do that thanks!

I tried to put the html fragment code in as you said replacing the words
vanusa with my site and it will not work. Any thoughts. I want to have a hit
counter w/o the ad under it, which is what I get if I put a search in google.

You don't put in the complete website address; just the domain name.

Tip:

Visitors to your site don't care about a hit counter, if anything it
shows how few people have visited.

That's not to say that designers should not be concerned about how many
show up in a month, but there are far better ways to get this info.
Almost all web hosts maintain log files for each site. Download those
and get a program such as LogAnalyzer Lite or DeepLog Analyzer - both
are free, that will give you not only the number of visitors but the
pages they visited, the pages they left from, how many unique vs.
returning visitors you've had, Search phrases, referring Search engines
and a lot more.

JMO, YMMV, etc.
