how do i add a google verification meta tag in publisher?

Google is asking that I add a meta tag after <head> and before <body>. How
do I do that in publisher. I can see it in the code on my host site but I
have to enter it by hand every time. I would like to put it directly into my
publisher file.

The only way to add something to the head section in Publisher is to do it
manually, as far as I know. Sorry.
