I have recently run Norton AV and selected to clean up
errors it found in over 300 files. Now I am having a lot
of copy/paste problems as well as loosing a number of
fonts. How do I go about correcting this problem in
Publisher?

I've heard many times over the years that Norton is very scary and running
it on a pc is probably akin to firing cannons off in your house. But this is
the first time I've heard of "clean up errors it found in files".
That doesn't make any common sense. What exactly classifies as an error and
how would they possibly know another companies file system to make them
judge and jury. That is just so wrong.
I'm sorry if you like it. I typically keep pretty mum about it but that
function just sounds more dangerous than a virus.

It is my understanding that once a pub file is trashed from Norton there is
no way to save it. If Publisher itself is trashed then my first
recommendation would be to do a system restore, if you are running ME or XP,
to before you unleashed Norton the butcher. If you don't have system restore
the other OS's have registry backups that can be restored, for help with
that I recommend you visit the newsgroup for your OS.

If you elect to continue using Norton (fyi, most mvp's and most IT pro's I
know run AVG -www.grisoft.com - visit the downloads page for the free home
user version) you'll at least want to disable the script blocker and the
office plug-in, 2 elements of Norton proven to corrupt and disrupt MS
products. Visit the symantec support site for instructions on that.

As I stated earlier, I believe that restoring the system is the best course
of action, I doubt a simple reinstall of Pub would resolve things, though
you are welcome to try.

David
Thanks for the tip on av software. We have been running Norton for 4 years here with no problems. Of course after we sign on any work station everyone always runs updates before any apps are opened, and the update feature is set to auto-update on each
Do you also run the Kerio firewall? I did not see on their site any licenses for more than one work station, but will check further
Again, thanks for the advice.

I run and recommend the widely praised zonealarm firewall.
