Okay, I've had my site up and running for a week now.
I changed alot of stuff on my site, and when I went to
publish it just now, I got an error message:
"Publisher could not save the file to the web...check
your network or url connection and try again."
There is nothing wrong with my connection. I had this
problem a few days ago too, but after trying 10 or 12
times, it finally uploaded. What could be causing this?
Using Publisher 2003.

I've not been able to really identify this random issue that some users have
experienced, though it sometimes seems perhaps Pub thinks the connection is
already open. I would suggest rebooting the pc.
Are you using the ftp method or the http?

I'm using ... File:publish website (or something like
that)... so ... I think it's HTTP. I have to do it this
way, because I have forms on my site, and it's the only
way I can get them to work.
I've also tried switching over the setting that makes
publisher publish the entire web site, or just the
updated pages. I can't remember what that's called. But
it didn't make any difference.
I end up having to delete every page of my site one by
one in publisher, then publishing the site, then undoing
a delete, then publishing the site, then undoing a
delete, then publishing the site, etc... and this seems
to work better sometimes.
I thought there might be a bug on one of the pages that
is causing it, but when I use the method mentioned above,
it doesn't seem to hang on any one perticular page every
time.
Have you heard of Frontpage having this problem? I'm
thinking of switching over...although I really like the
simplistic ease of publisher.

You'd have to inquire in the FrontPage forum as to if they've had any
connection issues.
If you're interested in doing so you are welcome to send me your pub file
for me to use in my attempts to test this issue.

Hi
I have been unable to publish my site even though my ISP provider has given me quite some time - they claim to be unfamilar with publisher. I follow the steps outlined in your help section but I cannot seem to get my url accepted - my url keeps changing from ftp.careerabc.com to ftp://careerabc.com
I am a non techie - if anyone can talk me through the steps in simple language, I would be forever grateful
By the way, I have used Frontpage, and followed the 'publish to the web' wizard without any difficulty - however I prefer working with Publisher
Thanks for any help

ftp://careerabc.com
would be correct.
The clearest language I have is at

What are you using to Publish Your Website? FrontPage? DreamWeaver?
