Thanks! I tried it but could not find Publisher's equivalent of Word's
option to put two pages on each sheet side. Do you happen to know how
to specify that?

Also, I'm puzzled by the reference to "catalog merge." I thought a
merge was for merging two files. What might those be in our case, or
am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

File, page setup, booklet. Publisher automatically sets up the pages in the
correct order in groups of four.
The catalog merge is useful for directories. You can also merge pictures. You
don't need it for a straightforward booklet.

It does this automagically, once Booklet is selected.

It is... sort of. You merge data from a database into a publication.
