My friend and I have gotten ourselves volunteered to do the yearbook for this
past year for the elementary and middle school.  The photograpghers that took
the school pictures sold us on digital photos.  We assumed that a template
would come with the pictures - we were wrong.  We have to use Publisher and
we are not familiar with it.  Is there already a template made for rows and
columns to place pictures of the kids?  We have about 1000 children to place
in this template grouped according to grade and teacher. If there is already
one, how can I get and if not -how can I make one and reproduce it for about
75 pages. Please help.

You can use the Catalog Merge for this. You'll have to set up a database
(using Access or Excel) with the name of each child, the path to the
photograph, the child's grade and teacher. Then use the Catalog Merge to
set up how you want a single child to look, and connect it to the
database (sorted by Grade and Teacher). Publisher should then
automatically create 1000 copies of this with a different child in each
one. Look up Catalog Merge in the Help files to find out more detail
about how to merge.

...also, you may want to download IrFanview which will aid you in
resizing/renaming all the images in batch mode.. it will make your life
easier.
