If the file extension is .doc it's not a Publisher file.

In addition to Don's response, if you know it was made with Microsoft
Publisher, it may have been made with Publisher 2002 or 2003, which default
to creating files that Publisher 2000 can't read. Or it could have been
made with Publisher 1.0 (the only versions that can open Publisher 1.0 files
are Publisher 1.0 and Publisher 2.0).

The files I am attempting to open were made with the
program that I have. They are Pub docs.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm a tad bit confused. I think you
mean that they were created with the same version? Are they .pub files? Not
.doc. I know, it sounds pedantic but it makes a difference.

David - send the file to my hotmail addy. I have Pub 2000. I'll try to open
it and we'll take it from there.

How big is the smallest file that you have?

Hi -
There are (at least) two different versions of Publisher
2000. One with the "barberpole" text box perimeter, the
older one with the thin line perimeter. I can open the
files from the older one on the barberpole version, but
not vise versa.

<very, very tiny> Hi, Brian - I searched around work for
those computers that had that odd version of Publisher
2000 --- oddly, they have all changed to Publisher
2002</extremely tiny>
