After managing to set up OE-QuoteFix on his new PC, Ed reads a message

Try holding down Shift as you resize (hold the Shift key before you start
dragging)

Thanks for the reply Ed. My problem is to prevent resizing. I am busy with a
crossword puzzle book and have created the crossword *templates* as tables.
Works very well. As many of the crosswords use the same template I have to
do a lot of copying and pasting and that's where my problem begins. As soon
as I select one and in the process accidentally click on one of the
horizontal or vertical lines it resizes. The fact that I am working at a 75%
view does not help either.

Have you ever thought about putting the puzzle table in the background (master page)
and moving squares around on the foreground? If, as you say many of the puzzles have
the same template, it could be done. You could strike guidelines to help the
positioning.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I am using Publisher 2002.

Have you tried using Edit/Undo after you've accidentally resized?

Or even better, Ctrl-Z
