When I'm using autoshapes, sometimes I want to use the same one several times
but to save time I'd rather notgo back to the menu each time.Is there a
shortcut to keep using the same shape or to keep it open until I want a
different one?
thanks

The Autoshape menu is a tearoff. Open the menu, along the top of the menu is a
series of dots, place the cursor on the dots and drag the menu. In Publisher
2000 it works the same but instead of dots there is a thick line.

Thanks,Mary.
I know the autoshapes menu/toolbar can float but it still means I have to
keep going back to the toolbar.I discovered if you  double tap the drawing
toolbar when it's not floating you can create multiple shapes but when it's
floating this doesn't work.

Thanks, Mary.
I know the menu is a tearoff but in this mode it doesn't allow me to make
multiple autoshapes(office 2003).I've discovered that if I leave the toolbar
anchored and click twice I can make multiple autoshapes.I find this very
useful when I'm creating  brainstorming maps with word or ppt.

Each Autoshape menu is a standalone, for example, if you just want basic shapes
open it will float.
