You can't change the shape of an existing text box, but you can right-click
[just about] any AutoShape & choose Add Text from the contextual menu. IOW,
you *can* "convert" an AutoShape to a text box. Additionally, if the text
overflows you can link it to another AutoShape just like linking regular
text boxes - just convert the destination shape before you attempt to link
in the overflow.
However, this isn't new in 2007. You could do it all in 2003 - perhaps even
prior versions.

Or simply put a rounded rectangle around the text box.

Thanks for that. I wanted to avoid getting a rounded rectangle - that means
inserting a text box into that and it gets messy. Perhaps 2009?

You can right-click, Add Text - that doesn't require adding an extra
text box. The text won't wrap to the rounded shape, though - it will
wrap to an inset rectangle.

If you use a rounded rectangle without adding text, convert to a .wmf, delete
the background, text will wrap.

Thanks for that! Isn't it amazing that we STILL cannot produce rounded
corners! Such a simple concept! Too hard or too obvious for Microsoft!
Thanks for the tip.

Many years ago (almost 20?!) you could get a rounded corner on your text box
in Pagemaker. You could SPECIFY the RADIUS of the corner you wanted and apply
it to a variety of border designs (just by "pulling" one text box.) If I
recall, you could get angled corners on the border in a similar manner.
