Publisher 2002 SP3.....
Mail Merge from .wdb. There are 281 names, addresses, etc. etc. for a
class reunion book.
I have 4 names on a page, usually.
So I set it up with a table insert (shoot, is that what it's called?
the icon on the upper left <g>) Actually I did it with 4 of them on a
page. Then I added the necessary info...Last names, Names Initials,
Address, City St Zip, Phone, etc.
Problem....when I want to edit each item, I cannot do it. What am I
missing here? Glad I have until July to figure this out with all of
your help. I do have to say that when I went to Tools to see the merge
results, I couldn't find that info for the longest time. Finally, it
"clicked in" and I could see the results. arrrrgh. Maybe the problems
is this being a 2002 program. ???
The first time I tried the mail merge I discovered I had 45 pages
(about) now I only get 4. Strange. I'm sure it should be 45 or more.
Appreciate any help someone could give me. Just keep hitting me over
the head and maybe I'll get it.

Why are you doing a mail merge is there something that will be personallized
in each book?

How are you setting up this booklet? Are you using a book fold, 5.5 x 8.5? When
you do a mail merge you can only have one entry on your screen. In your case you
are basically creating a directory, you will have to determine how large the
directory entry will be, this will be the size of the text box you will create
to accept the merge entries. Print preview will show all entries the same, it is
a Publisher bug.
You cannot edit the entries inside Publisher.
You will benefit by reading this article.

Thanks for the tip, Mary. My database is what I'm merging. I decided
to open the .doc of the book I did 4 years ago and then make changes
there and use that one. It was the printer who told me to get Publisher
and do it that way. arrrrgh. What good is it if I can't make
changes....people do move and get new addresses.
I hate bugs! lol
I may and try and import the .doc and see what happens then. I love to
find workarounds but this one really got me stumped.
