Changing your...Display Properties / Appearance...
will also change the colors in your program UI.

If you right click your desktop and choose...
Properties / Appearance tab / Advanced button...
open the 'Item' drop window and choose...
'Active Title Bar'....choose the colors you like
for the gradient (if you don't like the gradient...
choose the same color in each category)
then click...OK / Apply / OK

Thanks for the response. Sorry, I for got to mention that I am
running Vista w/SP1. However, changing the color of the Title Bar or
any other Windows colors, have no effect on Publisher's toolbars.
Every toolbar, ruler, margin, etc., in Publisher is a light blue.
Windows color settings have no effect on them and there appears to
be no way to change the colors within the Publisher program.

The other programs in MS Office have a limited selection of toolbar
colors like blue, black and silver. I am trying to find a way to
change the toolbar colors in Publisher, even if it requires a reg
tweak.
Any other thoughts will be appreciated.

Your e-mail header says Outlook Express
so I thought you were running WinXP.

Anyway...the info I posted works in XP so
I would have expected it to be possible in
Vista also.

Again, thanks for the response...! My Vista machine is under
construction and I am in the process of installing software. I am
using Publisher 2003 on the XP machine and it is all mellow yellow
which I like. Except for the title bar and the menu bar, there is
also no apparent way to change the colors of toolbars, ruler, etc. I
am hoping that someone has found a registry value that sets the
color in Vista. Do you know of any tips and tweaks sites for
Publisher? My eyes aren't so good and that light blue is a killer.

According to
http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/archive/2006/08/14/699304.aspx, Pub07 on
Vista is stuck in Blue. I'll let you know if I find anything more
up-to-date.

No registry tweak, but if you create a new shortcut to Publisher and set
the shortcut to run Publisher in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP,
Publisher will take on the OS's colours.
