Yes, my publication is setup to print on a color printer. I have only one
printer and it is an HP. I am not having print preview issues with Excel or
Word, only Publisher.
Is there a patch that will disengage the color/grayscale button?
You can install the Generic Color PS for Commercial Printing. It should be
available when you open the Print folder, file, add printer, scroll down to
generic.
I don't think there is a patch, you might check with HP for a updated driver.

The OP could also "print" to a PDF. Then print the PDF.

Thank you for the suggestions. I am able to work around the issue and
preview my document in color, however I would like to be able to use the
feature as it was designed...
