Autoshapes - callouts default font

When I use an autoshape, namely one of the callouts, I click inside the
callout and the default font is Times New Roman.

Then, for some reason, in the "Commercial Printing Tools  ... Fonts"  dialog
box, an extra unembeddable font (MS Gothic) also appears on the list as well
as Times New Roman. This font will not remove itself until I delete the
callout.

I can change the font from Times New Roman to any other font I wish to type
with, however the MS Gothic font remains as long as the callout is there.

Any suggestions? I need to embed all fonts in my document.

Many thanks,

Troy Filipek

What printer are you using? Does it have device fonts? What happens if you use a
different printer in the setup? If you are using Acrobat are you checking "do
not send fonts..."

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your response.

I'm sorry but I don't understand how that has to do with the offending
default font appearing in the Publisher document when I use callouts.

Kind regards,

It seems to be alternate font for hieroglyphics & japanese letters. Haven't you enabled language support for Far East languages?

Thanks for the input.

It is. It's a font for Chinese characters. I occasionally type in the
Japanese language so I assume I have the Asian languages enabled. Unless this
isn't what you mean.

Why does this font appear when I create a callout. More importantly, how do I
get rid of it?

Tks again,

Troy Filipek

AFAIK this is feature by design. Try remove Far East support just for a time when you preparing your publication for professional printing...
