I have already published this website using Publisher before.  However, I had
updated it and when I went to publish it, I receive an error message saying
"Cannot find the URL, http://...., Please check the typing." I know the
website is correct.   So, I am not sure what to do next.

Trouble shooting uploading issues involve a lot of variables. Please re-post
in the web group and we will try to help you there:

Include which version of Publisher you are using, which operating system,
which version of IE, whether you are using HTTP or FTP uploading, and the
URL of your site.

I am unable to post on the website you sent me.

I have already published this website using Publisher before.  However, I had
updated it and when I went to publish it to an HTTP site, I receive an error
message saying
"Cannot find the URL, http://www.lafayettehome.com Please check the typing."
I know the
website is correct.   So, I am not sure what to do next.
I am using Publisher 2007 on Window XP home.
I also have worked on http://www.acadianastars.com and can upload fine.
It's just Lafayettehome.com.

You must have FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) installed to upload your
web site files using HTTP protocol. You can verify your host has installed
FPSE and that they are functional, by browsing to  "_vti_inf.html" on your
domain.

If you test: http://www.acadianastars.com/_vti_inf.html you will note that
you do get a confirmation page, but if you test:
http://www.lafayettehome.com/_vti_inf.html the confirmation page is not
there. Your FPSE have become corrupt and need to be reinstalled. Log in to
your control panel on your host and find the instructions for uninstalling
and reinstalling the FPSE.

If you can't get HTTP uploading to work, then as you do not have any forms
on your site, which also require FPSE, you can use FTP uploading. But FTP
uploading can corrupt the FPSE, so generally do not use both.

If you are going to use FTP uploading, then consider downloading and
installing the free FTP client FileZilla:
http://filezilla-project.org/  It is likely to be easier for you.

It is written for Pub 2007, but if you are using IE7 instead of IE6, then
the directions for using Vista also would apply to Pub 2003. FTP and HTTP
uploading has changed with the introduction of IE7 and Vista.

If you can find this group: microsoft.public.publisher then you should be
able to find the subgroup microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign. Please post
follow up in that group. Thanks.
