new to publisher 2002, want to be able to insert autotext
like I was able to do in Word, when doing numerous
evaluation reports.  Any ideas?  Thanks

Without getting into Publisher macros (not as user friendly as Word!) I find
that Autocorrect is a good place to start. Simply ad an abbreviation and the
expanded text into Autocorrect. there are limitations -- 'normal' characters
only, I don't think you can add a Return for instance.
