What source do you folks use for
envelopes when you've printed your
own greeting card?

Anybody have a printable template
for a envelope and a way of making
it look as good as a store bought one?

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
and thanks to all you MVP's!

In the few times when I've made my own cards, the cardstock I bought came
with envelopes.

I found a few envelope templates online at Christmas. Nothing to write home
about. Do a Google search for envelope templates and see if you find
something you like.

I use JetTec stock (UK only) and it comes with envelopes. What I've always
wanted to do (well, occasionally) is print a design (say flower border)
round the flap, or even a little design on the point would be nice, but I've
never worked out a way of doing this.

Has anyone ever done it?

Over here you'd be hooked on stamping. There are some really nice stamps
available. Not my cuppa tea tho - give me beading and needlework. They are
expensive enough without adding another addiction.

There is a company over here (www.lakeland.co.uk - as the name suggests
they're based in the Lake District. Direct craft link here
http://tinyurl.com/2pemu). They started out doing kitchen paraphernalia,
then moved on to the rest of the house. This spring, they produced their
first craft catalogue - and I want everything in it! Their stamp sets are
gorgeous - the ink comes in such lovely colours, but it's too expensive -
especially when you add postage. There are many things that you lot would
use for 'scrapbooking' which appears to be a national obsession over there
(my mother's penfriend started when her granddaughter was born - and now she
can't stop! She, like you, is a needlework nut, but even that's taken a back
seat).

Sorry, rambling now. I think we should take this to email, if we wish to
continue! ;o)

Actually its been a while but I have put little designs on my envelope stock
especially when it had to do with my business - and you know what I forgot what
program I used but I do know that it can be done.

I don't think I was much help but you get my meaning - it can be done...

Another great source is Red River Paper. http://www.redrivercatalog.com/ All

HP and Canon don't play together well (I know I've tried, the colours look
muddy). JetTec is the UK's answer to Red River.

All of the office supply stores carry envelopes specially sized for folded
8?"x11" paper.  Staples carries a brand of envelopes in pastel colors.
Sorry I can't help out with the  "A" sizes.

Envelopes don't come in 'A' sizes, Don, they come in 'C' sizes (Why? Because
the UK (as well as Australia, New Zealand, and many other former
Commonwealth countries) use the ISO format of paper sizes). More information
on the ISO sizes can be found here
(http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-paper.html).

All we need now is the rest of the planet to conform.
