I used publisher to design my letterhead...now I decided to try to use this
in word.  This doesn't work..I always have to recreate what I made in
publisher in word.  How can i use all the templates I created in publisher in
word?

You can't. You must create your letters in Publisher (which will work
nicely). The only workaround is saving your Publisher letterhead as an image
and pasting into Word, or do a drag and drop into Word.

My typical advice:
(NB: ONLY use for this kind of issue.  NOT to be used to convert any
Publisher file to .doc for viewing by those who don't have Publisher - .PDF
is for this purpose)

In Publisher:
Select all, Group, Copy
(Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Shift+G, Ctrl+C)

In Word:
View > Header and Footer.
Edit > Paste Special > Picture (Windows Metafile)
Resize to fit
Right-click > Order > Send behind text

File > Save As... > Type = Document Template
