I have a picture directory I am creating. It has headshot pictures (~ 2 MB ea). There are ~ 20 pictures in the file (along w/ some personal info on each person). The file is currently 53MB. I have about 15-20 more pictures to add. The last several days every time I add a picture and go to save, Publisher locks up. It asks me if I want to send an error rpt to Microsoft (which I have done once) then it shuts down and reopens. I have tried 6 times today and have only been able to save one of the pictures. Last year I did this same directory but used a different camera and the headshots were only 1/4-1/2 MB each. Not sure if there is a size limit to a Publisher file?? Service Pac 1 is loaded but I have not loaded Pac 2. I've asked our technical person to do this soon but found this newsgroup and thought I'd pose the question here. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. For now, I'm stuck! THANKS! How much RAM has your computer got? How much HD space have you got on the drive that your Temp directory is on? How fast is your hard drive, how fast is your processor? What version of Windows are you using? Where are you saving the file to? The desktop is a Compaq Pentium Pro. The following is listed in the System Information: GenuineIntel x86 Family 15 Model 1 Stepping 2 What version of Windows are you using? Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.2222 A Where are you saving the file to? Hard Drive; should I try saving it to a network drive and working from there? What format are the pictures in? JPEG (~ 2 MB each) Also, I can tell you that I use Publisher for other tasks (much smaller file size) and it does not lock-up as reported with this large file. Thanks SO much for any help! I work for a church which has limited funds as you can imagine. After e-mailing this morning, I went out and deleted my *.tmp files off of c:. I'm hoping this might take care of the problem. Publisher can only handle 16mb pictures uncmopressed. This is assuming you have Publisher 2000 or older.
