Publisher & Picture  It! Publisher Problem

I thought Publisher 2003 was a stand-alone application. I have Office 2003
and MS Picture It! Publishing Platinum 2002 installed legally on my laptop.

Yesterday I copied a newsletter ( pub file - Publisher 2002) to my laptop. I
tried to open it and I get error message:
____________________________________________________________________________
___
Microsoft Picture It! Publishing Platinum 2002

The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk
that is not available.

Insert the Microsoft Picture It! Publishing Platinum 2002 disk and click OK.

Use source:
Microsoft Picture It! Publishing Platinum 2002 Set.
__________________________________________________________________________
I repeatedly tried to click out of the above, ending the process with the
task manager and obtaining the "hungapp" and dumps to send to Microsoft.

I finally got my disk after restarting and encountering this again. It
cleared up the problem. But why should I have to bother with Picture It just
to open a publisher file in MS Publisher 2003?

I have had problems with Picture It Platinum 2002 and Publisher 2003
co-existing on the laptop many times.

If there is a permanent fix for this problem, please let me know.

Thanks,
Susan

Picture It! Publishing and Publisher  are two entirely different programs.

Which version of Office do you have? It may or may not have come with
Publisher.

Yes they are two entirely different programs which is why I am confused
about the stupid error. My husband gave me Picture It! for Mother's Day few
years ago. Office 2003 was installed a little over a year ago.

I have not received error today.

Yes they are two separate programs. My husband bought me Picture It! for
Mother's Day one year.

Did you use an image from PictureIt! in your Publisher publication?

Office 2003 has a service pack.

No, the organization does not have Picture It! so I don't know why the while
trying to open the newsletter, I got Picture It! errors. I use the
newsletter to copy and paste info to their website.

I did not get any errors yesterday so I hope the problem is resolved.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling PIPP2002 using the
instructions and utility in the following article:

the Mhputil6.dll File or the Mhputil7.dll File
