How do I change the normal style in Publisher 2000 so that all future
publications will use font size 12 automatically rather than 10 which is too
small for all of my publications?

Thank you in advance.

This is not available in Publisher 2000. Publisher 2002 and 2003 offer this
feature. The only work around would be to open a blank publication, set your
styles, then save that publication as a template, then use that template for
all new publications. You will still have to choose the saved style.

The difference in the two versions, in 2000 you can save the text format per
publication, it has to be changed every time you open Publisher unless it is a
template.  In 2003 the normal text format is saved for all new publications.

Mary, I beg to differ.

By creating a file named "normal.pub" in which I edited the "normal" style,
and then saving that file in the "office" directory, now each new
publication opens with a 12 point font.

I was able to do this in Publisher 98, too but in the 98 version I remember
creating a blank text box and making the font size 12 in it, and saving that
file as "normal.pub" in the publisher directory, (a procedure that was not
successful in Publisher 2000). I learned that from the help files in
publisher 98.

The slight change in procedures made it impossible for me to change my
Publisher 2000 until I followed Joanne's advice.
