Hello all
I was working all day long on a report due on Friday. I was cautiosly saving
my work every 5 to 10 minutes. Then when I was ready to go home I saved the
file again. However now that I want to open the file  Word says that it
cannot find the file and to verify the path but I am double clicking on the
file. It says to look for the file using the File/open menu, which I do and
select the file, but it doesn't open. I says in some window to check the
permissions of the file but I am an administrator in my machine so I have
all permissions enabled for me.
Please help

Thanks

If you have Norton Anti Virus, open NAV and deselect the Office Plug-in
option.

Hi,
Ijust found the solution for my problem and though in sharing it with you.
Try to open the document from hte application File->Open but in the open
button click on the small arrow that will pop out a menu that has an item
call Open and Repair. Doing this Word "repaired" the document so I could
open the file and see the contents. I just selected everything and pasted
into a blank document and named it differently. This saved my day.
Cheers

I had the exact same problem, and it was fixed using the exact same method.
In my case, it appears that it had something to do with errors in Drawing
objects. Is there a KB article on this?

thanks,

Found a post with a KB article:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public
.word.application.errors&mid=cd122de4-0da4-4b97-9014-a74547b3f6b4&sloc=en-us

only problem: I had the problem in SP3 (but the Open & Repair option did
work, so I was able to recover the document that way.
