We just got several new Dell computers with Word 2003.  When opening some
documents Word will pause for up to several minutes.  At the bottom of the
screen it reads "Word is finishing analyzing your document:"  It gives you
the option to press ESC, but it does not work.  We are NOT using any
document management software.  There are no add-ins except Acrobat PDF
Maker.  The strange thing is that I have several new Micron computers with
the exact same set up and they do NOT exhibit this problem.  They have
identical Tools-Options and they are running the same McAfee virus software
and Acrobat.   They also have the exact same Office version number and both
computers have all the Windows and Microsoft Office updates and service
packs.

I found the problem.  Removing Adobe Elements fixed it.
