I recently started getting a message when attempting to open an existing word
document.  It says "the file "filename.doc" is not available.  When I attempt
to close the word application, I get the message:  "changes have been made
that affect the globaltemplate, Normal.doc.  Do you want to save those
changes?"

I am able to create a new word document but then if I attempt to reopen it
after it has been saved I get the "not available" message again.  The same
type of thing is happening when I attempt to open an excel document.

I did a repair on the office 2000, but I still get these messages.  Any ideas?
Thanks
Jeff G

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton
AntiVirus.  See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to
use Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for
more information.
