There is no physical 'pop-up' error but each time I try to format a document
by either moving a section/line, adding bullets or numbered lists, all
content of the document will follow suite as well as adding additional lines
within the document.  After this occurs, I select 'Undo' and the content
returns to it's original state except the action that was originally
completed and the additional lines adding usually in the header and footer of
the document.  I know that this is a known problem but I would like to know
what can I do to get this fixed?

I have the exact same problem!  It is very annoying to say the least.  I too
do not get an error message.  When formatting a document, I highlight a line
of text and click the bullet or number button.  The bullet or numbers appear
on every line of my document.  If it is a large document this can take a long
time.  Then, I click UNDO and the new format change to the entire document is
removed and the text I wanted to have formatted is formatted correctly.

In addition, sometimes when making a different format change, for example, a
font, or a word to a STYLE, I loose all bullet and number formats and I have
to redo them.

I have chacked for a virus and reloaded Office.  I still have the problem!
