When I am typing a document, and I want to add an outline of a subject
matter, when I try to type in an outline form, my tabs, numbers or bullets
are responding in sequence or in a tabbed order. Nor does my reverse tab
feature work.

See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html for help
with outline numbering.

On the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options, check the
box for "Set first- and left-indent with tabs and backspaces."
