Help! One of my PC's has XP Pro, and in the past 3-4 weeks I lost the
functionality to use the "Save As" option in Word 2003, and also in
Outlook I cannot insert a file using the "Look In" drop-down.
When I click the "Save As" picklist the drop-down disappears and then
the app freezes. I have to ctrl-alt-del to kill it.
When I click "Look In" for Outlook it just freezes. Again I have to
ctrl-alt-del.
My workaround for both is to use the folder with the up arrow on it,
but since I've been using Word fro 12 years it is hard to untrain my
habits.
I
I uninstalled some Windows updates that I thought might have been the
culprit, but that did not help. I did the "Detect/Repair" for both, but
that didn't help. Help!
Thanks,
dorothy

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

I stand corrected -- I did find a mapped drive to a another network --
