Everytime I open OUtlook 2002 (SP3), I receive an error: MS Word has
encountered a probelm and must restart.   I updated all my software via
MSupdate. I can no longer reply to email. The preview pane works, so I can
read my email.

I also receive the error when trying to open word.  I seem to be able to
open/read documents that I created a few days ago.

Any insight out there?

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm .
If you use Word as your email editor in Outlook, then fixing the
problem in Word should also fix it in Outlook.

Thanks.  Your link discussed the possibilty that I had an incorrect printer
setting.  Somehow I had a printer setting created that was invalid, and it
was set as the defualt.  When I corrected the error, I no longer had a
problem.
