i was working along in word normally, then all of a sudden a bunch of periods
started typing themselves in my work. i deleted it, it happened again. i
thought it may be a problem with my keyboard, so i unplugged it and plugged
it in again. then things started typing all by themselves, full sentences
that didn't make sense, but were punctuated and filled with real words. i am
not sure if this is unique to office/word or if it is happening on my
computer in general. it sounds like a virus or something, but all my
spyware/virus checkers are coming up clean. any thoughts?

Did you possibly accidentally enable speech? That's the usual cause when
Word gets haunted.
