Word 2007 won't open

I am having problems getting Word 2007 to open on my Vista machine. It has
worked just fine for about 2 months but as of today it just hangs. If i close
Word and reopen it says Word encountered a problem starting up last time and
offers to start in safe mode ( which it can). I have reinstalled Office 2007
to no avail. Other Office components are working. I am not using McAfee (
which was suggested as one possible problem). any ideas?? Thanks:-)
