Word 2007 - not highlighting, not formatting, not scrolling

Word 2007 continues to have errors every time I close it.  It is not
formatting the text.  I cannot scroll using the side scroll bar.  I cannot
highlight the text.  When I go to the Microsoft image in the top left corner
and click "Word Options," I cannot scroll past the "Popular" tab to change
any options.  I looked online and this seems to be a problem with other
users.  Some of the suggestions said that editing and deteleting files from
the Registry was an option.

Has anyone else been having this problem? Any suggestions apart from
reinstallation of Office 2007?  Thanks!

Try deleting the Word DataKey

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number\Word\Data

It will regenerate itself when you restart Word.

Thanks Terry! That fixed the problem.  Any idea of what causes that to happen?

No idea. I've never seen it happen but plenty of reports from other users
here. You are far from alone.
