Hi,

I am having problems with Word 2007 freezing when trying to insert a picture
from file (Insert > Picture).  The cursor displays the busy signal but the
insert picture from file dialog never opens and the program must be forced
closed.  This just became a problem in the last three days (today is 4/30/08)
and happens every time regardless of what document is open.  A Picture can
SOMETIMES be inserted by dragging from windows explorer, but even this
sometimes freezes word too.

System stats:
HP Pavillion dv2600
2.2 Ghz, 2 GB RAM
64 MB NVidia Graphics
Windows Vista Home Premium NO SP1
Windows Office 2007 w/SP1

Thanks,

This may be only due to abandoned temp files, so I recommend you kill them
all and then test again. If the problem persists, come back for some more
diagnostic advice.

Meanwhile see this FAQ for cleaning up the temp folde3r:
