Frequently, in Word 2007, I will be typing and the text will move to wherever
my cursor is.  Even when I put my cursor outside of the text document, the
text still moves to an earlier sentence.  Any help on how to resolve this
problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Is this a laptop? This is usually die to an over-sensitive touchpad that has
double-tap to simulate a left click. Try either disabling that feature or
desensitize the touchpad.
