MS Office Forum / Word / Word Errors / September 2003Drag and drop faster than double-click?
Hello, I am running WinXP Pro with Word XP. When I double-click on a .doc file it takes 60 seconds or more to open Word and additional time to open the document. When I drag the same .doc file onto a shortcut to WINWORD.EXE, Word and the document opens almost instantly. What can I do to fix the double-click sloooooowness? Thank you. This may be just something as simple as needing to reregister Word in Windows. Use Start, Run and type in winword /r and press OK. Let us know if that resolves the problem.
