The spammers now have a software utility that simply spends 24 hours a day
scanning (harvesting) everything it can (Newsgroups, Web site absolutely
anywhere open to the public) for valid email addresses. Any address found
gets added to SPAM lists. You need to 'mung' your email address. For
example, if you are cyril.smith@hotmail.com, then use something like
cyril.smith@coldmail.com or Cyril dot smith at hotmail dot com or if you
have to post to a site that requires a correctly formatted email address use
cycril.smith@nothotmail.com .
As we humans can think for ourselves, we will easily spot your real email if
we want to sent to you: fortunately, the harvesters are still too dumb to do
this.

In some of my previous postings to this newsgroup I was
stupid enough to publish my unmodified e-mail in clear
text - and immediately got 16 letters (2,5 Mb) with
different funny attachments...
Are you guys not afraid of that? Or you know an anti-virus-
spam wonder-program?
I would rather suggest that Microsoft forbids explicitly
the field "e-mail" by postings, so that the people who
really want to publish their real e-mail would have to
write in in the message body (with changes).
