Speech corrupts word

I have a laptop with an internal microphone which runs
when my USB microphone is disconnected. Can this corrupt
speech files?

Dell think my formatting errors are caused by the voice
command in Speech. Some versions of word allow you to
disable speech commands. The tech thinks voice command
corrupts word.

It certainly has the ability to mess things up if you have it turned on and
don't know it.
