Compile error in hidden module: menu code

Everytime I start word on one particular PC I get the
message: "Visual Basic - Compile error in hidden module:
menu code".
I can cancel past this and use word but the error is so
annoying I need to get rid of it.  I have followed the
advice of the KB and tried everything suggested
(uninstalled, reinstalled office, deleted office startup
files, renamed/recreated normal.dot etc...) but still the
error persists.  Can anyone shed any further light on this
please?

Go to Tools | Macro | Macros and find macros that might be part of the Menu
Code module. Then change the "Macros in" setting until you isolate which
template or add-in they are coming from. Remove that add-in from Word's
Startup folder.

Thanks again for the reply, however there are no add ins
in the start up folder and when I look in Tools/macros I
can only find one reference to menu:code but I am unable
to delete it or make any changes to it.

Did I tell you to delete it or make changes to it? No, I told you to find
out what template it was in, then remove that template.

How do I find out what template it is in, when there are
NO templates being used? There is no need to be rude.

If the macro is listed, then it is in a template or add-in that is loaded.
As I believe I stated previously, you need to change the "Macros in" setting
at the bottom of the dialog until you find the one that contains the macro.
Then find and delete that template.
