When I start up Word and try to open any file I get the following
message.

-The File is Not Available- (this message also has a yellow caution
sign with a black exclamation mark). My only option is to click "OK".
When i do the message goes away and I am left with a blank document.

Then when attempting to exit from the Word program another message box
appears which says -The File "Normal" Already Exists, Do You Want To
Replace The Exisiting File?- This message offers me 3 choices: Yes,
No, or Cancel. When I choose "No" (because I'm not sure what to do) I
get the "Save As" box and it is Prompting me to save in "Template" and
the file name which it is trying to save is the "Normal" file. Also,
it is trying to save the file as a "Document Template.

When I simply exit from all of this yet another message appears
informing me that -Changes Have Been Made That Affect The Global
Template "Normal", Do You Want To Save Those Changes?- Once again I
have the same 3 choices: Yes, No, or Cancel. I always choose cancel
and it takes me back to my Desktop where the whole process begins
again....UGH!!!

I have attempted a System Restore to several different Restore dates
but am told after each attempt that -No Changes Were Made-. Of course
I want to be able to access some very important Word Document files so
any info anyone can provide would be AWESome. Thanks in advance!

If you are running Norton Antivirus, disable the Office Plug-in, as it can
cause all the symptoms you describe.
