I just installed Word 2003 aqnd it will not read any of my old files.  It says "[file name] is unavailable".  When I try to close the program it says the file "normal" already exists; do you want to replace it

I have repaired once, removed and reinstalled, and updated from the web.  Any suggestions

I am running XP and Office 2003 (upgraded from 2000.)

Very far from being an expert, but;
Do you use Norton AV?
If so, the word seems to be that you should disable the Norton AV Office
plug in.
