Certain keys no longer behave as before

Some keys no longer perform as before, e.g. When I highlight text and press 'Delete' key the text is not deleted, but a 'Delete block? No (Yes) prompt appears at the foot of the screen.  Does anybody know what has caused this and how to correct?

Turn of the two WordPerfect features in Tools>Options>General
