Slow opening Word documents

Hello,

I have recently upgraded from NT4 servers to W2K Active
Directory servers. All files have transfered and
everything seemed OK. But, the MS Word 2000 documents are
very slow to open 40 seconds plus. They are still slow
when they are on the local PC. Any document with an
embedded graphic is slow. Pure text documents open OK. All
Excel, Powerpoint and Access documents open OK. Once the
slow document is open even if you choose save as, the new
document is still slow.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Billy England

At a guess, you have removed or relocated the original template associated
with the documents and when you open them they are looking for the
associated template.

Otherwise, please let us know the versions of Word(Office) and if thy are
patched up to date. Ditto for the server.
