MS Works and MS Word Compatability

I asked this question a couple days ago and then asked a
follow up question.  That question has not been answered.

Can MS Word (.doc) documents be read by MS Works?  I
assumed basic Word documents could be read but advanced
formatting (i.e.  forms with pull down lists and
calculations) could be lost.  I have created a form in MS
Word that turns into "jibberish" when read by MS Works.

Thanks!
Brian

In Word you need to use SaveAs and choose select Works .wps format.
