I created a pdf with a Word (2002) document that contains hyperlinks, but
the links don't don't work.  The file is a listing of email addresses ...
nothing special.  Is there something special I should be doing?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

PS ... if I should be posted to another word forum (ie., not "word
conversions"), please let me know.

Thanks.

G'Day Dianah,

The only issue we can address here, is whether the links
work in the Word Document - if they do, then we are as
helpless as you!!!!

You must consult the manufacturers of the 'tool' that you
used to convert from Word to PDF!

Thanks for the response, Pat.

The links do work in Word, which is why I posted my question.  When I
"control click" on the link, an email screen pops up, ready for a message.

I was hoping it was simply a setting in word when I went to print ... in the
pdf writer's properties box or perhaps there might be something I needed to
enable.

Ok Dianah,

There are a number of 'Products'/'Printer Drivers' with
names like 'PDFWriter' or 'PDF Writer'.

(Do a Google Search for "pdf writer" and see!)

None of them is supplied by Microsoft, nor are they
part of Word.

You need to establish WHERE this facility came from,
and seek help there.

Thanks Pat.
I at least know that Acrobat Writer comes from Acrobat.  It will only
install if you do a "custom" install.  It defaults to "not" being selected
during the installation process.

I ended up reinstalling yet again and it seems to be working now.  The
Acrobat toolbar is showing up again in Word.  Strangely enough, if I simply
"print" to the Acrobat writer, the hyperlinks do not work in the pdf file.
If I use the conversion tool, (from the Acrobat toolbar that displays upon
installing Acrobat), the hyperlinks work.  It doesn't make sense to me, but
it's working now.  Thanks.  Diana
