How do I edit a scanned document in Word 2000? I want to
be able to fix spelling change paragraphs etc.

You need to run it through OCR software (which may come with your scanner).
What you have now is a picture of text rather than text. Word deals with it
as a picture.

You will need to use some kind of OCR (optical character recognition)
program to convert the scanned text from graphics form into text form.
Office XP and Office 2003 both have a Document Imaging component that can do
this. I don't believe there is anything comparable for Office 2000, so you'd
need to use a 3rd party application.
