I am having trouble opening an .wps file (I believe it is
an old Works 4.0 file)in Office\Word 2003, when I first
tried to open it, it wanted to install a converter so I
did that, and it now opens up with unrecognizable text
(gibberish), I have gone through my Office setup to make
sure that all text converters are avaiable, I actually
got it to open using a repair text option, but it was not
formatted the same as the original. I am able to open it
using Office\Word XP(2002). Could it be that the Newer
version of Office no longer supports converting that old
of a file?
Please assist if possible!!
Thanks

Never mind I found the solution on another forum.
Here is what I did for anyone having the same problem:

Hi cnbtech.  You can copy the WORKS432.CNV file from the
text converter directory in Word 2002 to the text
converter directory in Word 2003.  The default directory
for this file is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\TextConv, but check on both computers to see
your .CNV files are.
