I'm still unable to use .hwp documents (from Korean, English word
processors). How can I convert these files to .txt ot .doc? Thanks,

Hi Goomba,

MS Word 97 had a converter available for Arae-Ah Hangul Word
Processor Conversion (HWP) files as a download.  Possibly
this one (my Korean is a bit rusty <g>)

I don't recall if MS added that as a built in converter later
for the Korean/Hangul version of MS Word (it's not a supported
conversion in the English language versions of Word) but you
may want to ask the folks in the Korean language MS Word
newsgroup
 news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.kr.word.qna

There was an HWP file viewer at http://www.namo.co.kr/
and the folks with Arae-Ah Hangul can save in .DOC format.

Hi Goomba,

Hmmm. The Korean MS Word 97 .CNV converter from the link in the
prior message crashed Word on a couple of sample HWP files
I used it on in Word 2003, but the free Hangul viewer from
Haansoft opened it without difficulty.

On http://haansoft.com/english click on the 'Products' link
on the top of the page and there is a link for downloading the
viewer on the lower left side of the page.
