Am looking for some guidance and help.
Have about 6 templates with simple macros created in Word 97. When
converted to Word XP, following issues occur:
1. Formatting changes when using track changes except when opening template
in Word 97. How do we fix this?
2. Table of contents updated incorrectly and sets pages off by one page in
Word XP, even though it is correct in Word 97. Sometimes get an error saying
can't find the information (in Word XP).
3. Can print 97 version with out any problems, but when printing in Word XP,
formatting is inconsistent.
Any help or guidance is appreciated!
Hi Sandy,
You may want to also post this in the Word document
Management newsgroup.
Without knowing any specifics of your formatting changes
or how the macros play into your scenario, the track
changes feature was replaced in Word 2002 with a different
verison and reviewing toolbar. Check the options settings
for the reviewing display.
Word is text reflow, rather than page layout software
and differing margins or printer drivers, for example
from the person viewing the document can result in
changes in formatting.
The table of contents is a field. Do you have the
setting in Tools=>Options to update fields on open
enabled?
Are styles used consistently or is this direct formatting?
Have you set the feature in Tools=>Options=>Save in
Word 2002 to disable features not available in Word97?
