Is it possible to import/open a worksheet from an excel (looking to retain
text and the "table format") and make it a Word Document?

I have a "text/word like document" that was created in excel
"because it was easy to create columns and rows like a table
and hide the lines of other cells" they say.

Before I tell them they'll "have" to create a document in Word I want to
make sure that I cannot import it somehow.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tracey

No matter what I <Save As>, any thing I open up with Word launches some sort
of Excel interface.
Can I stop/prevent the Excel interface?
What I want to end up with is a Word Document.
Thanks, Tracey

Hi Tracey,

Are you opening an Excel Workbook in Word 2003?
MS no longer includes a converter for Excel in Word.

You may want to try copying from Excel and using
Edit=>Paste Special in Word to see which choice gives
you the appearance you'd like.  Not all Excel features
are supported in Word.

"MS no longer includes a converter for Excel in Word."

Any reason as to why?

This caused me no end of grief at work after the upgrade as I had document generators that
used the "InsertFile" vba command to pull info from Excel.
Of course they blew up and I had to re-write to create/check for an instance of Excel in
order to copy/paste the info into the document.

Just wondering.
