Sorry if this was asked before.
I have a document that I can open and read in Word 97 but
in Word 2000 it comes opens in "computer" text (lots of
arrows, number and other odd stuff.) Filename.ltr is how
it looks.
How can I convert this file to a readable word 2000 type?
Thanks in advance!!!!
Dick
Hi Dick,
It's going to depend on what type of file it is.
.LTR files were created by LetterPerfect, a WordPerfect
'light' product, but you can save any document, even in
Word with that name.
Try turning on [x] Confirm Conversions on Open in
Word's Tools=>Options=>General then open the file
to see what format, if any, is recognized. It may be
that the Wordperfect converters were installed on your
Word 97 copy but not in the 2000 copy. If so, you can
add them through the MS Word/Office choice in
Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
