I was able to open a Microsoft Publisher file (v.2000),
(.pub) in Word 2000 and visa versa.  Now, since I've
downloaded all of Microsofts "wonderful" critical updates
I can no longer open these files.  How can I correct this?

I don't think you're remembering right. I've never been able to open a
Publisher file in Word.... I don't think it's possible.

Hi Cathy,

There are no viewers or converters for .PUB files
other than MS Office Publisher.

You can cut and paste into Word from Publisher and
cut and past into Publisher from Word and you
can import text from Word into Publisher 2000
(Publisher 2002 and 2003 have slightly better Word
to Publisher transfer capabilities).

Word is 'text reflow' software, adapting to the current
user.  Publisher is page layout software and should
still relatively consistent between users viewing the
same page in a publication.
